Job Description : Job Title: Senior Executive – Legal Company: Godrej Agrovet Limited Location: Kolkata, West Bengal Department: Legal & Secretarial Reporting To: AVP – Secretarial & Legal Vacancies: 1 CTC: Up to ₹12 LPA (Based on suitability) About the Role Godrej Agrovet Limited is seeking an experienced and dynamic legal professional to join its Legal & Secretarial Department as a Senior Executive – Legal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling litigation matters, contract management, legal compliance, recovery proceedings, property-related legal matters, and providing legal support to business operations. Key Responsibilities Handle and monitor litigation matters involving the Company. Manage recovery of dues from customers, distributors, and other parties. Draft, review, vet, and negotiate various agreements, contracts, notices, and legal documents. Prepare and submit replies to notices received from government authorities and other stakeholders. Ensure legal compliance under applicable laws and maintain records in Legatrix Compliance Software. Verify property documents and coordinate with external advocates for land acquisition and related matters. File, defend, and monitor civil, commercial, and regulatory cases on behalf of the Company. Provide legal advice and support to business teams on statutes applicable to products, processes, and operations. Represent the Company before statutory authorities, tribunals, courts, and government departments. Assist the Marketing Team in credit appraisal of distributors and customers. Liaise regularly with advocates, solicitors, law firms, and court authorities. Maintain and update legal case records and provide periodic status reports to the Corporate Legal Department. Eligibility Criteria Graduate with a Law Degree (LL.B.) from a recognized institution. Commerce graduates with a Law Degree will be preferred. Minimum 7–8 years of post-qualification experience in: Corporate Legal Department of a Public Limited Company, or Practicing as an Advocate. Age below 35 years. Preferred Industry Experience Manufacturing Industry. Agri-business, Seeds, Crop Protection, or allied sectors preferred. Desired Skills & Knowledge Strong drafting, vetting, and contract management skills. Sound knowledge of: Insecticides Act Seeds Act Land Laws Negotiable Instruments Act Corporate and Commercial Laws Experience in handling matters before District Courts, Civil Courts, Tribunals, and Regulatory Authorities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Computer Proficiency MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Internet research and online legal resources. Compliance management software exposure preferred. Preferred Candidate Location Kolkata or willing to relocate to Kolkata. Why Join Godrej Agrovet?
