Designation : Senior Accountant
Job Description : Intime Commotrade Pvt. Ltd., part of the Intime Group of Companies, is a diversified business organisation established in Kolkata. The Group operates across product distribution, government projects, civil works and manpower services, with a growing pan-India presence. Position Overview The Senior Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting, finalisation of accounts, statutory compliance, taxation, financial reporting and audit coordination. The position requires extensive practical knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, balance-sheet preparation, ledger scrutiny and accounting software. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day financial accounting and maintain accurate books of accounts. Handle end-to-end accounting, including the preparation and finalisation of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements. File GST and TDS returns accurately within statutory deadlines. Monitor TDS deductions, payments, return filing and certificate-related documentation. Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, PF, ESI and other applicable statutory regulations. Perform detailed ledger scrutiny, reconciliation and account verification. Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. Prepare and maintain accounting reports, schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents. Ensure that all financial records comply with applicable accounting standards and regulations. Handle GST notices, including reviewing notices, preparing supporting documents and drafting information for replies. Coordinate with tax consultants, government departments and other relevant stakeholders regarding GST matters. Ensure timely submission of replies and documents against GST notices. Maintain and regularly update statutory, taxation and financial documentation. Coordinate and assist with internal, statutory and external audits. Prepare audit schedules and ensure the availability of complete supporting documentation. Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Generate periodic financial reports and provide relevant financial insights to management. Operate accounting systems such as Tally Prime, Tally Edit Log, SAP or other ERP platforms. Ensure accuracy, confidentiality and proper documentation of all accounting transactions. Complete assigned accounting and compliance responsibilities within strict deadlines. Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. A master’s degree or relevant professional qualification will be preferred. Required Experience 10–15 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, statutory compliance and finalisation of accounts. Strong practical experience in independently preparing accounts up to the balance-sheet level. Demonstrated experience in GST and TDS compliance, audits and financial reporting. Prior experience handling GST notices and coordinating responses will be essential. Technical Skills Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, ESI and other statutory compliances. Expertise in finalisation of accounts, Balance Sheet and P&L preparation. Proficiency in Tally Prime and Tally Edit Log. Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP-based accounting systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of ledger scrutiny, reconciliation and accounting controls. Sound knowledge of audit procedures and financial reporting standards.
