Designation : Global HR Director
Job Description : Key Responsibilities 1. Global HR Strategy & Governance Develop and implement a global HR strategy aligned with long-term business goals Establish global HR policies, frameworks, standards, and governance models Ensure alignment across regions while enabling local flexibility Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and people strategy Coordinate with regional and local HR leaders for effective implementation 2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning Define global workforce planning and headcount governance Set global recruitment strategies, hiring standards, and employer branding guidelines Oversee cross-border hiring, global mobility, and expatriate programs Partner with local HR teams to ensure compliant and effective hiring 3. Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Oversight Design and govern global compensation philosophy and pay structures Define benefits strategy including insurance, retirement, and wellness programs Ensure internal equity and external market competitiveness Establish payroll governance standards and oversee vendors Support localized benchmarking and administration through local HR teams 4. Performance Management & Rewards Design global performance management frameworks and appraisal cycles Establish incentive, bonus, and recognition programs Drive succession planning, talent reviews, and high-potential identification Enable effective country-level execution of performance processes 5. Learning, Development & Leadership Define global learning and leadership development strategies Drive upskilling, reskilling, and future capability-building initiatives Establish career paths, competency models, and talent pipelines Partner with local HR teams to address regional development needs 6. Employee Relations & Engagement Design global employee engagement frameworks and surveys Establish grievance handling, disciplinary, and escalation mechanisms Drive culture-building, values, and DEI initiatives Support local HR teams in managing employee relations within legal and cultural norms 7. Compliance, Risk & Employment Law Ensure compliance with global and local employment laws Establish HR risk management, audit, and compliance frameworks Govern employee data privacy and data protection standards (e.g., GDPR) Oversee ethics, conduct, and whistleblower programs 8. Global Mobility & Immigration Define expatriate and international assignment policies Govern immigration, visa, and work permit processes Oversee relocation, cost management, and assignment lifecycle Coordinate with local HR teams and external vendors 9. HR Operations & Shared Services Standardize HR processes, SOPs, and documentation globally Design and govern HR shared service models Own HR technology strategy (HRIS, ATS, LMS) Manage HR vendors and outsourcing partners 10. Change Management & Organizational Development Lead global change management initiatives Support mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and transformations Drive organizational design and post-M&A culture integration Partner with local HR teams for on-ground execution 11. Analytics & Reporting Define global HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting standards Deliver workforce analytics and insights to leadership Monitor attrition, productivity, cost, and engagement trends Enable data-driven decision-making 12. Employee Lifecycle Management Govern onboarding and offboarding frameworks globally Define internal mobility, succession planning, and career progression Establish exit management and alumni engagement strategies Ensure a consistent employee experience across geographies Operating Model Global HR functions as the strategic and governance center of excellence Local HR teams manage country-level execution and compliance The Global Head of HR ensures alignment, oversight, coordination, and escalation Key Skills & Competencies Strategic HR leadership in multi-country environments Strong governance, policy design, and operating model expertise In-depth knowledge of global employment laws and compliance Strong stakeholder management and change leadership skills Analytical, data-driven mindset Experience & Qualifications 12–18+ years of progressive HR experience, including global or regional leadership roles Proven experience managing HR across multiple geographies Strong expertise in talent management, compensation, and organizational development Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred) Relevant HR certifications preferred
