Job Description: As the Head Chef at Hotel Udichi Regency, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Your creativity, leadership, and culinary expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary experience for our guests. Key Responsibilities: Menu Planning and Development: Design innovative menus that reflect the local flavors of Santiniketan while catering to the diverse preferences of our guests. Regularly update menus to incorporate seasonal ingredients and culinary trends. Kitchen Management: Lead and manage the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and continuous improvement. Maintain inventory levels and ensure efficient utilization of resources to minimize wastage. Food Preparation and Presentation: Oversee food preparation activities to ensure adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards. Maintain impeccable presentation standards, ensuring that all dishes leaving the kitchen are visually appealing and meet our brand standards. Quality Control and Hygiene: Implement and enforce strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in the kitchen to comply with food safety regulations. Conduct regular quality checks to uphold the highest standards of food quality, taste, and consistency. Vendor Management: Source high-quality ingredients from trusted vendors, negotiating favorable terms to optimize cost-efficiency without compromising on quality. Training and Development: Train and mentor kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills, productivity, and professionalism. Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous growth and development. Qualifications and Requirements: Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a reputable hotel or restaurant, preferably with exposure to regional Indian cuisine. Extensive knowledge of Indian culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavors, with a passion for experimenting and creating unique dishes. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail. Certification in culinary arts or hospitality management is desirable. Proficiency in Bengali cuisine and familiarity with local culinary traditions would be an advantage.
