As a Junior Accountant, you will provide essential support to the finance and accounting department by assisting in various financial tasks. Location: Kolkata, India Industry: Infrastructure Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining financial records and general ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and customer billing. Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure proper documentation for all financial transactions. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Support the monthly and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis as directed by senior accountants or managers. Help monitor and analyze project costs, expenses, and revenue, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting. Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and professional growth. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Prior experience or internships in accounting or finance is preferred but not mandatory. Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial terminology. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations is a plus.
