We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labour Welfare Officer to join our team at our Howrah location in West Bengal. Responsibilities: Compliance with Labour Laws: Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, regulations, and statutory requirements. Stay updated with changes in labour legislation and communicate relevant updates to management and employees. Maintain records and documentation related to labour welfare activities as per legal requirements. Employee Grievance Handling: Provide a supportive and confidential environment for employees to address their concerns and grievances. Conduct investigations and provide guidance on resolving employee grievances in a fair and timely manner. Collaborate with HR and management to implement effective solutions and preventive measures. Health and Safety: Implement and monitor health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and taking necessary actions to mitigate risks. Organize safety training programs and awareness campaigns for employees. Employee Welfare Programs: Develop and implement employee welfare initiatives to promote employee well-being and work-life balance. Coordinate and manage activities such as health camps, cultural events, sports tournaments, and employee engagement programs. Administer employee welfare benefits, such as medical facilities, insurance schemes, and other welfare measures. Union Relations: Foster positive and constructive relationships with employee unions or representatives. Participate in collective bargaining negotiations and assist in resolving disputes or conflicts between management and union representatives. Act as a liaison between management and union members, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Labour Welfare Reporting: Prepare reports related to labour welfare activities, including employee grievances, welfare program participation, and safety incidents. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and documentation related to labour welfare activities. Provide periodic reports and updates to management on labour welfare compliance and initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Labour Welfare, or a related field. Additional certifications or qualifications in labour laws and regulations are preferred. Proven experience of [number of years] as a Labour Welfare Officer or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of labour laws, statutory compliance, and regulations in India. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to handle employee grievances and welfare matters sensitively and confidentially. Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions. Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS systems.
