Job Description : Position Chief Technology Officer(CTO) -Technology centre Type of Engagement CONTRACTUAL Place of Posting KOLKATA Age less than 65 years Qualifications M.Tech. & above. Experience Relevant exp. In R & D, Materials, Quality, operation, etc. in Research Organisation & Core Industries. Total exp- 25 years & more (Retired personnel from Core industries/Research Institutions/PSUs). Deliverables Conceptualise "Centre for Manufacturing Industries" as a cost centre model Operational knowledge of high-end software used for Designs, Simulation and Testing and also suggest for its upgradation from time to time. MSME members may be benefited by using these facilities available in the Center upon through suitable sustaining revenue model. Identify requirements of Technological interventions at MSME sectors and extend R&D support through Technological Institutions, scientists-research labs, technical consultants, inputs from other similar but renowned engineering companies, etc. Collate and disseminate information on latest trends in technilogical space e.g. World Class Manufacturing practices through notification in website, newsletters, mailers, seminars, etc. Arrange for technology suport to MSME sectors - viz. Testing of raw materials and finished products for quality related issues, quality certification, etc. by appropriate collaboration between EEPC INDIA and various R&D, reputed technological Institutions, NBL Labs, Certification Bodies, etc. Suitable revenue earning model to be developed. Should possess good network with relavant technical experts from differenct core manufacturing industries segment with suitable tie-ups to form Panel of Subject Experts PAN India to conduct technical troubleshooting and solution providing sessions. Organise suitable seminars, workshops technological meets, distance learning programme, interactive sessions from Industry experts for different Industry segments through VC. Design suitable revenue earning model to be developed. Prepare training module and arrange for execution at the center on operation of various software like CAD, CAE, CAM, Solid Works, 3D modelling, Prototype Development, etc. through a suitable revinue model. Co-ordinate with other Centre Heads to standardise the deliverables and execution benefits to members. Understand various Schemes offered by the departments like DST, DSIR, DOC, DIPP, MSME, DHI, State Govt. Overseas Govt. NGO's meant for facilitating technology upgradation and extend them to MSME sector. Responsibilities (Techno-commercial) Administrative : Manage and maintain infrastructure, equipments, systems in proper and working conditions. Keep and maintain proper records and information in the database of its usage and generate monthly reports/MIS which is sent to H.O. Arrange for Insurance cover of the expensive equipments, etc and also its AMCs, if required. Functional: Arrange for suitable trainers and module for suitable training on these equipments and systems. Prepare and update data base of the R&D and other scientific and tenchnological Institutions and also enter into suitable collaborations so that members of the Center can draw benefits from its database of information and support. Arrange for retainership of Panel of Industrial & technological experts, scientists, trainers, faculties in different sector, areas, fields, quality systems and practices, etc. and seek their guifdance and support for the MSME members as and when required. Develop suitable pocesses for dispossal of various technical queries of the members for improvement of their operation processes in cost effective manner, quality of product, etc. and also technical inputs for introduction of new processes and products. Commercial: Identify suitable equipments and upgraded systems from the world class technology and renowned Industries and arrange for procurement by presentation of suitable proposals. Prepare and furmulate suitable self sustaining revenue earning model so that the Centre remains effective and vibrant. A suitable revenue system must be developed to sustain recurring expenditure to maintain and upgrade the Centre. Another revenue model may be developed which takes care of expenses incurred for specific project and development related initiatives. Reporting Structure & Relationship Administrative: Formulate and arrange for suitable MIS/Reports relating to attendance, Usage and maintenance of Infrastructure, equipments, systems, etc for ED/AED. Guides and directs the team reporting to him to executes the deleberables of the Centre(s). Technical/Functional : Obtain relevant data/information from the Centre(s) team for preparing suitable Technical proposal and acquire approval for its implementation. Finance Related : Proposals with comparative statement to be presented for sanction from ED's Office CC. AED
